hand-crafted jewelry from beautiful Bonny Doon

Brazilian Aventurine Toggle Necklace

Aventurine is sometimes mistaken for Amazonite. The colors can be similar, and both are found in Brazil (among other places).ade has a four thousand year history in China and is a part of all walks of life. These highly polished 11 x 19mm rectangles range from pale celadon green to dusky grey-brown hues. I think the combination of colors makes them stand out. I've strung these beauties with small daisy spacers and 3mm silver beads. A sterling silver Bali toggle clasp adds a nice decorative touch, don't you think? As with all my jewelry, I use only sterling silver or gold-filled beads and wire. Careful attention to detail can be seen in the sterling crimp covers and the keepers attached to the clasp which protect the wire from abrasion.

Treat someone special to this one-of-a-kind gift or buy it for yourself.

The necklace is 18 inches long.

Note: Aventurine is a form of quartz, characterised by its translucency and the presence of platy mineral inclusions that give a shimmering or glistening effect termed aventurescence. It ranges in color from green, peach, brown, blue and a creamy green. Besides its uses in jewelry, aventurine is also used for ornamental purposes like vases, bowls, and figurines. Aventurine is found in India, Chile, Spain, Russia, Brazil, Austria, and Tanzania. It is a 6.5 on the Mohs scale of hardness. This mineral is often mistaken for amazonite or jade.

Many believe that aventurine has the capacity to calm a troubled spirit and bring about inner peace.

Enjoy wearing this unique piece of hand-crafted jewelry.
