Multi-color Jade Graduated Rondelle Necklace

red-line.gif

This stunning multi-color jade features shades of brown, carnelian red, gold and apple green and the beads run from opaque to semi-translucent. The graduated rondelle beads range in size from 8mm to 14mm and are separated by tiny 2.5mm sterling silver beads. I've finished the piece with a Karen hammered silver toggle clasp. Thimble protectors keep the wire from rubbing and the crimps are encased in sterling cover beads. Here's a closeup of the beads.

Treat someone special to this one-of-a-kind gift or buy it for yourself.

The necklace measures 19 1/2 inches.

Note: Jade is listed as the mystical birthstone for the month of March and the birthstone for the Sun Sign Virgo. Jade is the term applied to forms of jadeite and nephrite. These minerals are similar in appearance and a distinction between the two often was not made. But, because of its more intense color and translucency, jadeite now brings higher prices and is thought to be the true jade.

The most valuable form of jade is known as imperial jade and comes from Myanmar, it is an emerald green color. Jades also appear in mottled green and white, and the rarer colors of yellow, pink, purple, and black.

Enjoy this unique piece of hand-crafted jewelry.
