Belle Rustique

hand-crafted jewelry from beautiful Bonny Doon

Hornitas Poppy Jasper

This lovely stone comes from the Mariposa area of Northern California and was cut by an artist in Utah. Isn't it beautiful? Poppy is one of the more colorful jaspers. I've border-wrapped this designer cabochon in 21 gauge sterling wire and added my signature topper. A sturdy hidden bail will accommodate most chains. Enjoy!

Treat someone special to this one-of-a-kind gift or buy it for yourself.

The pendant is 2 1/16" from bottom of stone to top of bail and is 1 1/4" wide.

Note: Jasper was a favorite gem in ancient times and is referenced in Hebrew, Assyrian and Latin literature. It is a massive, fine-grained chalcedony and comes in all colors. The name jasper comes from the Greek and means "spotted stone." Rare Hornitas poppy jasper comes from collectible old stock in California. Primo material like this has become scarce and I was lucky to find this beauty which is even rarer than Morgan Hill poppy jasper.

Enjoy this unique piece of hand-crafted jewelry.
