Montana Moss Agate Pendant

red-line.gif

This charming freeform pendant is actually more of a whitish honey color than is shown in the photo. It was cut by John and Patty at Blue Heron Gems and has a high polish. I've border wrapped it in sterling silver and topped it with two swirls.

Treat someone special to this one-of-a-kind gift or buy it for yourself.

The pendant measures nearly 2" from top of bail and is 1 1/4" wide.

Note: Moss agate (also called mocha stone) is a semi-precious gemstone formed from silicon dioxide. It is a form of agate which usually includes minerals of a green color embedded in the chalcedony, forming filaments and other patterns suggestive of moss. It is usually formed from volcanic rocks and occurs in many locations. The colors are formed due to trace amounts of metal. Agate was highly valued as a talisman in ancient times and is said to quench thirst and protect from fevers. Ancient Persians used agates to divert storms. Some use agate to achieve success in international trade!

Enjoy this unique piece of hand-crafted jewelry.
