Serpentine in Stichtite Designer Cab

This gemstone sold to me as Serpentine in Stichtite is mostly stichtite. The two are often found together and may go under the name Atlantisite, particularly when the stones are mottled with the green serpentine and the purple or lavendar stichtite. A third combination, when mixed with quartz, is called "Peace Jade", but that's another story. I've wrapped this domed designer cab in 21 gauge square sterling silver wire with a double swirled topper and tiny claws. I hope you like it.

Treat someone special to this one-of-a-kind gift or buy it for yourself.

The pendant measures 2 3/4" from bottom of stone to top of bail and is 7/8" wide.

Note: Serpentine gets its name from the somewhat mottled and scaly appearance. Stichite is a hydrated magnesium chromium carbonate material, pinkish purple, not unlike the lighter shades of sugilite. It often occurs with serpentine and its most abundant location is near Dundas on the island of Tasmania.

Enjoy this unique piece of hand-crafted jewelry.
