Chohua Jasper Designer Cab

Chohua jasper, also know as Picture jasper and Chinese Painting Stone, comes from China, South Africa and Southeast Oregon. It is actually a form of chalcedony with colorful bands that look like paint splotches or sometimes scenic landscape "pictures." Chohua jasper is noted for mahogany red to cocoa brown splashes on an opaque off-white to grey background. This particular designer cut measures 25 x 40 millimeters. I've border wrapped it in 21 gauge sterling silver wire and added an "S" swirl over the top of the stone. Enjoy!

Treat someone special to this one-of-a-kind gift or buy it for yourself.

The pendant is 2 1/4" from bottom of stone to top of bail and is 1 1/8" wide.

Note: Jasper was a favorite gem in ancient times and is referenced in Hebrew, Assyrian and Latin literature. It is a massive, fine-grained chalcedony and comes in all colors. The name jasper comes from the Greek and means "spotted stone."

Enjoy this unique piece of hand-crafted jewelry.
