Lime Chrysoprase Freeform Pendant

red-line.gif

A most unusual stone is this 31 x 40 x 8 millimeter freeform lime chrysoprase. Gorgeous brown matrix spreads veinlike across a polished, domed yellow green. I've border wrapped this gemstone using six strands of sterling silver wire, then given it a double swirl and claw topper.

Treat someone special to this one-of-a-kind gift or buy it for yourself.

The pendant measures 2 3/4" from top of bail and is 1 3/8" wide.

Note: Chrysoprase is the most valued variety of chalcedony. The word chrysoprase comes from the Greek chrysos meaning 'gold' and prason, meaning 'leek' and it was used by both Greeks and Romans as a decorative stone. Its green color is due to trace amounts of nickel in the structure. Originally mined in Poland and Czechoslovakia, since 1965 the best quality chrysoprase comes from Queensland, Australia but other sources include Brazil, California, the Urals, and Austria.

Mystic Lore: Intuitive sources say that chrysoprase brings peace to the heart and well-being to one's emotional, mental and physical states. It is said to aid in releasing stress, healing 'heartbreak', calming anger and soothing fear.

Enjoy this unique piece of hand-crafted jewelry.
