Petite Coyamito Agate Designer Cab

red-line.gif

Coyamito agates are characterized by their unique banded formations. This lovely stone was cut and polished by Gerard Scott Designs in Sylmar, California. Note the gorgeous array of color--from deep maroon to almost translucent bands of silvery blue to a pale pink. I've border wrapped it in 22 gauge sterling silver wire and given it a swirls and claws topper. It is definitely a top-drawer stone and is priced accordingly. Enjoy.

Treat someone special to this one-of-a-kind gift or buy it for yourself.

The pendant, part of my "petite" series, measures 1 7/8" from top of bail and is just over 3/4" wide.

Note: Coyamito agate was mined less than 40 miles north of the world famous Laguna agate, making its origins in Northern Mexico. Coyamito Agate is known for its wonderful vibrant colors of reds, oranges, violets, and blues. Rare in most agates, psuedomorphs are quite prevalent. Psuedomophs are areas in agate that a mineral crystal has formed. Typically these mineral crystals have been dissolved leaving a hollow cast of the crystal, or filled in with agate creating a unique banded formation. It is found in multiple deposits, most of which are located on the Coyamito Ranch. Forty years ago, agate was collected and mined on the Coyamito Ranch, La Gregoria Ranch, El Agata Ranch and probably the El Sueco area and sold as Coyamito Agate. This resulted in a variety of agate referred to as Coyamito.

Enjoy this unique piece of hand-crafted jewelry.
