Ruby in Fuchsite Designer Pendant

red-line.gif

Whoa! Here's a knock-out ruby in fuchsite stone that's a full 59mm long and sports one of the most colorful ruby patterns I've seen. A deep pinku-red surrounded by a sea of aqua, then another of off-white. There are several of these aqua "eyes" on the green fuchsite background, also a degree of crystalline sparkles over much of this stone. The top is very slightly rounded with a fair polish (due to its softness, ruby in fuchsite does not take a high polish). At 7mm thick, the stone required six lengths of square sterling wire to make a suitable border wrap. I finished the piece with a topper of swirls and curls.

Treat someone special to this one-of-a-kind gift or buy it for yourself.

The pendant measures 2 7/8" from top of bail and is 7/8" wide.

Note: Ruby in fuchsite is a fairly new material, generally found in India. It is similar to ruby in zoisite but nicer. The ruby crystals are actually embedded in the mineral fuchsite which makes for gorgeous green and red. Often, as in the case of this stone, a third color occurs, sparkling white crystals.

Enjoy this unique piece of hand-crafted jewelry.
