Petite Serpentine in Stichtite Designer Pendant

Serpentine in stichtite ideally is a combination of green serpentine with purple stichtite as shown in this petite gemstone. The two are often found together and may go under the name Atlantisite, particularly when the stones are mottled with the green serpentine and the purple or lavendar stichtite. A third combination, when mixed with quartz, is called "Peace Jade", but that's another story. The designer cab is 6 millimeters thick. I've border wrapped it with six strands of 22 gauge sterling silver wire and given it a double-swirled topper.

Treat someone special to this one-of-a-kind gift or buy it for yourself.

The pendant measures 2" from bottom of stone to top of bail and is a hair over 5/8" wide.

Note: Serpentine gets its name from the somewhat mottled and scaly appearance. Stichite is a hydrated magnesium chromium carbonate material, pinkish purple, not unlike the lighter shades of sugilite. It often occurs with serpentine and its most abundant location is near Dundas on the island of Tasmania.
